While studying sculpture at the Atlanta College of Art Kevin was introduced to West African Percussion. He began studying with a local teacher and founded a drum circle at the school that quickly developed into Husk Percussion Ensemble. Kevin has been studying djembe and dunun drumming for the past 20 years and has been teaching for 15 years. His experiences include drumming for the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, performing with local African drum and dance troupe Chihamba for five years, hosting African artists for local workshops and camps and serving as director of the Charlottesville Community Drum Choir for the past 13 years.
