Nell Downey has a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from UVa. She has worked with children for 10+ years in a counseling and/or teaching capacity. As an environmental educator she has worked at Frost Valley in upstate New York (a residential environmental education center), with Sierra Nevada Journeys in California teaching watershed studies and geology in the outdoors, and volunteered with the Ivy Creek 4H program locally. Her greatest love is bringing kids out into nature and facilitating a positive individual and group experience, while teaching environmental science concepts using experiential and hands-on methods.
