Sarah has a BA in American History and an MA in American Studies so she naturally ended up as a sign language interpreter in the school system. She sat through 6th grade through 12th in the Albemarle county system with her Deaf student, seeing the educational system in a way few other adults get to see it. This is one of the main reasons she has homeschooled her children who are now 13 and 9. She has taught American sign language for almost 20 years in the community to a wide variety of ages and within the homeschooling community.
