I have been a professional interior designer/interior architect for more than fifty years in both commercial and residential design. I have been associated at times with architectural firms and have had my own firm for many years in Seattle, Sun Valley, ID and Charlottesville. I have loved every minute of this enriching career. It's time to add another dimension to my life. I want to combine my love of cooking, photography and the rich world around us into a class that will help impart this love to a new generation. I have traveled extensively and always photographed my adventures from the wild planes of the Serengeti with the vast array of wildlife to the trattorias of Bologna, Italy with their vast array of tastes and aromas, I will try to give a flavor of all this through my photos, talks about culture and geography and tastes of each country we visit. I have been an adjunct professor of design in both a four year college and a three year program at a community college when I was in Seattle. For a short time I also worked as a chef in a kitchen serving three distinctly different dining room menus (quite a unique experience--but that's a long story). I love the communication between student and instructor because I feel that each learns something by the insight of the other. I have had interns in my design business that taught me things and enlarged my world, both professionally and personally. I have just finished a 2 1/2 year project for a client in Ft. Myers, Florida and feel that it is time to branch out into a new world. I love to cook, spend time with my grandchildren, who also live here and my Scottish Terriers, Winston and Oliver. I also enjoy travel, photography and working with my trainer.
