We strive to offer classes that are fun, educational and social, and that reflect the imagination of our instructors and students. CHEC is an inclusive learning environment that is open to all. Courses are held on Mondays.
Albemarle Christian Teaching Support (ACTS) Charlottesville A Christian-focused educational organization designed to provide support and enrichment for home educating families.
Christian Home Educators Science and Sports Charlottesville A strong focus on hands-on, lively science classes full of experiments and activities. Students learn about God's creation through their studies of many science topics.
REACH Virginia REACH's goal is to offer meaningful and educational opportunities for all homeschoolers in the Virginia area. REACH is Christian-led, but is open to all regardless of religion, race or politics. We are a very active group that participates in many field-trips and workshops for children of all ages.

Triple C Camp Charlottesville Our homeschool workshop format opens the opportunity for families/groups to request a single-day workshop centered on a topic/content of interest specific to the group. Workshop content/topics that we have historically served include, but are not limited to, nature, science, citizenship/leadership, soft skills (critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, etc).
Tinkergarten Charlottesville Outdoor classes for ages 18mos - 8 years. Each class becomes a tight-knit group of children and adults who learn together through well-designed, outdoor play-based activities.

Charlottesville Debate League Charlottesville, Central Library The Charlottesville Debate League runs debate classes and tournaments for middle school aged children. The class and tournaments are free.
Meadowlark Farm School Palmyra Meadowlark Farm School is a working and historic family farm in Fluvanna County; a place where children and animals alike get to be themselves and good things grow! Closely following the tenets of Waldorf education, we offer enrichment classes to small groups of children. We also invite school classes and homeschool groups to visit the farm by appointment.

This group meets at a different park every Tuesday (and some Thursdays) and is for kids of all ages. Most kids fall within the age range of 5-14. Also a great way to find out about smaller book clubs and co-ops.

Charlottesville Charlotte Mason Community Charlottesville We are a Charlotte Mason community that covers Charlottesville and the surrounding areas for children of all ages. We have monthly discussions to explore Charlotte Mason's philosophy through the use of her volumes and PNEU resources. Outside of our mother's discussion group, we offer student various classes based in Ms. Mason's methods and also host a handicraft fair two times a year. Wintergreen Ski and Snowboard Lessons Wintergreen Learning to ski or snowboard can be part of your homeschool curriculum - or make it a part of your physical fitness program for the winter. Homeschool program valid Tuesday-Thursday.

HEAV (Home Educators Association of Virginia) Virginia Home Educators Association of Virginia is a member-supported, statewide, 501(c)3 non-profit homeschool association. HEAV, coming from a biblical worldview, serves all homeschoolers—regardless of religious or philosophical beliefs. Offers a convention every summer.

Community Service Opportunities for Kids
