My name is Odette Lagacé and I am now enjoying retirement after more than 30 years working in Canada and France as an attorney specialized in dispute resolution working in law firms and international organisations: I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Law from Montreal University and a Master’s degree in Business and Economics Law from Université de Paris II. A native of beautiful Quebec City, I lived in Montreal then Paris for close to 15 years. I remarried to a colleague, mentor and friend, now a university law professor, in 2016 and moved to the USA in 2018 to join him. We moved to Charlottesville in 2021. I have a 29-year old daughter Lana, whom I raised alone in France and in Canada, and two adult step-children, Anne-Laure and Daniel. I have taught English, French and dispute resolution over the years and am an independent translator and interpreter. Cooking has been a constant thread in my life, from my childhood years with my mother Ivy who was a Cordon Bleu, through my years in Paris learning from my then mother-in-law, also a Cordon Bleu. My hobbies have ranged from sailing, kayaking, playing the violin and piano, handball, gymnastics, hiking, travelling, alpine, cross-country and water skiing in my younger years to reading, watercoloring, embroidery, walking in the woods and aqua yoga in recent years. I am a lifelong lover of art, architecture, mythology, history, music and …cooking !
